17 month old suddenly fussy

Hi everyone,

My 17 month old took to weaning like a dream, I was very smug but have now come a back down to earth with a bump... (well deserved!) we are rapidly running out of things that he will eat that aren't cheese, bread, yoghurt or fruit. He will still eat orange veg, but will not even open his mouth for anything green, he's stopped eating meat, fish, eggs, turning his nose up at pasta and even refused potatoes the other day. All the things he used to love he's no longer interested in. I've tried mashing things up, hiding veg/meat, finger food, spoon feeeing, letting him spoon himself, eating the same as him, encouraging and ignoring. Not really sure what I'm asking - I know this is probably a normal toddler development stage, but it's tough! Anyone else in the same position? Any tips? Any particular foods your fussy kids loved?

Thanks.

It's probably just a phase. A phase that continues for years!

One week they like broccoli, the next they don't.

It's really frustrating. All I can advise is don't make a big deal out of it. With my two I say "well it's X or nothing" and sometimes they decide to eat it, sometimes not.

If they are a healthy weight and no other problems I wouldn't pander to it too much. It will pass.
