Has anyone made the Middle Eastern dessert, mahalabiah, before? If so, can you please share an easy recipe that can feed 30-40 people? TIA Smile

Have attached pics from google to give an idea on how it looks like. It can easily be made into a vegan friendly dessert using soy milk or almond milk combined with coconut milk etc. Oh and I have used lactofree milk in the past as well.

The thing is, I have made it in smaller portions but can't seem to get the quantities right when making for more than 5 people. So I was just wondering what quantities I should use for each ingredient really.

a quick google gives me this one although it doesn't seem like a large quantity.

2 litres of milk into pot
Then add sugar maybe half a cup taste the sweetness to see if u like it
Mix 2_3 table spoons of custard powder or corn flour with water in a cup not too much water just enough to make a paste
Bring all this to a boil stiring throughout to make sure it doesn't burn once it starts to thicken add in a splash of orange blossom take of the heat and dish into bowls

That's how I make mine Grin

So even with 2 liters of milk, you don't need to add a lot of cornflour? 🤔 I think that's where I went wrong Blush

Hi no u don't need loads of corn flour and it tends to thicken more off the heat too max 3 table spoons if even for the 2 litres. It just takes practice and it's basically making custard you can buy ready made ones too that are nice
