I noticed a pork tenderloin had a use by date of yesterday. Been refrigerated etc . Put it in the freezer at 7am this morning- that's not too risky is it? Would you eat it?

Yeah I'd eat it so long as it didn't look a funny colour or smell. I'd have taken it out of its packaging, checked and then frozen anyway! I'm sure I've done worse and I'm definitely still alive!

Just threw it straight in the freezer! Looked fine but didn't unwrap it .... Will try and remember to give it a good sniff when it's defrosted and also not to leave it too long defrosting. Thanks! Annoying as I hate waste but also not so pig headed about it that id want to risk food poisoning...

Agree with pp I'd eat it after blasting it on the oven etc.

What do you honestly think happens to the meat at the stroke of midnight? Hmm

Don't you ever buy meat from a butcher which has no date on it?

People seem frightened to use common sense these days.

I only say to take it out of its package because stuff I buy always seems to come in giant plastic trays that just waste space! Otherwise I would definitely have done what you have haha!

I'd eat it, and I generally verge on paranoid. But when it is defrosted I'd eat it within the next 24 hrs
