Just come back from a short break in Amsterdam and discovered Maatje herrings. Absolutely loved them. From what I can read they are young herrings pickled in a lightly salted brine for a few days.
Does anyone know if you can find them in London? (they are much nicer than rollmops in my opinion). TIA.
