What can I eat to fill me up and give me energy?

I've decided my diet is contributing to my lack of energy so I want to get organised and eat better. I want to cut down on the empty carbs and sugar. White bread etc. But what should I be eating instead?

Wholegrains are more sustaining.
Wholemeal, seedy bread is lovely. If you Arent feeling satisfied maybe you could look at upping your protein too. What do you currently eat?

I eat a lot of jacket potatoes or cous cous for lunch.

If I have half an avocado on one piece of wholemeal toast for breakfast it fills me up for hours. I don't understand why - any other breakfast and I'm ravenous by 10!

That's a lot of high GI carbohydrate heavy food for lunch! No wonder you've got no energy. Those foods raise your blood sugar sharply and then it crashes just as fast, leaving you tired and drained. You need protein heavy foods such as chicken/fish, omelettes etc good carbs are fine such as brown rice, sweet potatoes etc but in moderation.

Red lentils are great, I love a stew made with them - basically whatever veg is left in the fridge, cooked chicken if I have it, add lentils and stock

Avocado and poached egg on toast really fills me up actually. Might have that tomorrow. I've never cooked lentils. Cagliostro do you have a recipe?

I almost need a list of breakfast lunch and dinner ideas! I love yoghurt and that's filling. What's the best type of yoghurt to have?

King Thistle - it's the fat in the avocado that helps fill you up whereas the other breakfast choices you go for might not contain any / as much - but it's a healthy source of fat so keep enjoying!!!
