Portable Pudding to Take To BBQ

TenThousandSteps · 03/06/2017 11:10

Can you please inspire me with ideas for a pudding that I can make and take to our street BBQ? There will be a fridge there and the donated puds will come out when required. The pud needs to be something that is easily served (no messy slicing up of cheesecake for example) and easily eaten (holding plate with one hand and eating with just one implement. Not fruit salad as someone else is doing that .....

Any ideas ..... please????!!

Eton mess!

Just make some fairy cakes with sprinkles on top?

Or chocolate chip cookies?

Something that can be eaten with one hand would be ideal.

Brownies.

Fruit topped pastries (premade cases from supermarket, either whipped cream or premade custard to fill, top with strawberries/raspberries)

Or Eton mess!

stealing That Magnolia Bakery banana pudding looks great, do you have a link to a UK available list of ingredients?

Yes, what can we use instead of American Vanilla Pudding Mix and Nilla Wafers.

It does look dreamy and I could make that in individual pots ....

I like to take banoffee pie to a BBQ!

bruffin · 03/06/2017 16:43

think you can use trifle sponge fingers and vanilla angel delight instead

bruffin · 03/06/2017 17:39

or maybe amaretti

StealingYourWiFi · 04/06/2017 12:48

Here's a recipe

It is AMAZING!! You could probably use sponge/lady fingers and Angel Delight mix. However I normally just buy the bits off Amazon.

www.americansweets.co.uk/cookies-and-cakes/cookies-and-biscuits/nabisco-nilla-wafers-11oz-311g Nilla wafers here..and they also sell the jell-o. But I definitely think sponge fingers or 'langues de chats' biscuits would substitute well, as would vanilla Angel Delight.
