PLEAsE can someone help me with pulled pork

Inneed a fail safe pulled pork recipe for a BBQ that can't go wrong and probably won't be able to trial it before .. I have a slow cooker ?? I'm going to be serving it with homemade apple sauce as burgers... thank you thank you I want it to seriously shred ??

This is the recipe I use. It never fails and is absolutely delicious. Dial down on the smoked paprika rub at the beginning if you don't like it too spicy.

Fair thank you but I don't have a BBQ...

Joint of pork in slow cooker.
Full fat Coke to reach half way up joint. Whole bottle of BBQ sauce.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
Remove joint and take off fat.
Shred in a large dish.
Ladle a couple of spoons of liquid from slow cooker over meat.
Cover in foil for 20 mins to allow meat to soak up liquid.

Would this be ok done the day before or better on the day?

I like it better the day after.

I leave it (unshreded) in its cooking juices in the fridge and then re-heat and shred the next day.

Shoulder of pork. Don't use loin or leg as it hasn't got enough fat. I ask butcher to remove the rind as well.

I don't have a Bbq either, OP; I cook it in the oven for hours, and finish it under the grill.

As an alternative to coke my sister uses orange fanta.

What would be the equivalent in normal oven terms to 8 hours in a slow cooker", does anyone know? Would it make any difference to flavour etc?

Like Wecks I've always used shoulder.

Should have added I cook in the pressure cooker the day before but I finish it off the next day in the oven so I get a mix of crispy bits and soft bit iyswim.

Hassled - not done this in an oven but I slow roasted a whole pork shoulder overnight based on the recipe below. It was lovely. If you replaced the marinade with coke and BBQ sauce (I also add a tablespoon of black treacle) I imagine it would work as well for pulled pork.

I've done it in a normal oven on about 150C for 6 to 8 hours, depending on size.You can't really overcook it but if you don't cook it slow enough it won't "pull".

Honestly, I've tried all sorts of ways and the best is the simplest. Rub with a bit of salt and brown sugar and cook really slowly on a low heat (8kg went in the oven at 1.00am at 130 degrees- set the oven timer). Put in a roasting dish with high sides with a bit of water at the bottom and cover really well with tin foil so steam can't escape.
Serve on brioche buns with coleslaw , apple sauce and BBQ sauce.

Forgot to add- for 12 hours!

Pork in slow cooker, cover with Apple juice and cook for 8 hours, drain and shred, stick back in slow cooker and pour over plenty of bbq sauce, cook for an hour or two then switch to keep warm and serve as required

So simple even I can get compliments on how good it tastes and it's very low effort

I think I might try making it this sat to make sure it goes ok not sure whose method to use now that's the problem!

I'd pick the one that's most similar to your own cooking style and uses techniques familiar to you tbh.

The easiest is probably to bung it in the oven tbh.

Takes a long time, but you can't really go wrong.

So don't all hate me but I'm going to try my bosses version today and see how I go she doesn't put any liquid at all in because so much moisture comes out of pork.. I'm going to rub the top with brown sugar like someone mentioned though and should I be cutting any of the fat off ?!

I don't add any liquid either in the slow cooker its fine
