Has anyone made one of these (vanilla cake with 'sprinkles' in ?) I have looked at several recipes and they vary from a standard victoria sponge to having, oil/buttermilk/yogurt in. Planning a fourth birthday cake and thought it looked good but sometimes find victoria sponge can be a bit dry so wondered if anyone had a tried and tested version they could share ?

I did something similar a few years ago. I made a madeira cake (which is a bit 'sturdier' than a vanilla sponge). I then put the 'confetti' in the buttercream which I sandwiched the sponge together with, and then made another batch up which went between the cake and the flat icing on the outside.
The sprinkles I put in the cake mix itself mostly melted.

You need to get a particular type of sprinkles,

I use these

And then slightly less sugar than the recipe asks for.

Dust them in flour and stir through just before baking.
