I've got tons of oats, a full tin of golden syrup, some dried dates, sugar...but very little butter.
should i just give up?

how much butter do you have?

purplemonkeydishwasher · 15/03/2007 11:06

well, i actually have enough to make the flapjacks. but that would leave me butterless for the rest of the week! so i'd like to use as little as possible!

thanks lullaby!

i ended up finding this recipe:

75g of butter or margarine
50 - 75g light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
175g of porridge oats

so we'll see if it turns out ok! (can i just say that i HATE being skint?!!)

oh honey your recipe sounds far less complicated!
can i have one when they're ready?[hopeful emoticon]

MrsBadger · 15/03/2007 12:07

monkey that sounds like the recipe I use

if it looks too dry and you haven't any more butter, steal the mashed banana from Loo's recipe

Lullabyloo · 15/03/2007 12:09

really wishing i hadn't used the last of the oats for porridge this morning now!
