Lemon sandwich cake with mascarpone filling

I need help!! I used to have a recipe for a lemon drizzle sandwich cake which you made as a round cake, drizzled it then sliced it in half and sandwiched it together with lemon curd and mascarpone mixed. I have lost the book it was in in a house move and can't remember the name of the book or author....and when I've tried it with normal lemon drizzle recipes the cake is too soft and it doesn't work. My MIL who is adorable has requested it for her birthday next week as she wants to take it to work....so it's got to be good. If anyone can help, please do!!!

Just make a regular sandwich sponge with plenty of lemon rind, lemon essence and the. Lemon drizzle.

It uses whole lemons rather than lemons curd. It is seriously delicious.

Ok, just in case anyone cares about the worlds nicest lemon cake that I just made.....I did the sponge recipe from the BBC good food recipe above in 2 tins then drizzled them both when they were warm. Then I sandwiched them together with a jar of lemon curd mixed with mascarpone. Lemontastic! And I tried it gluten free as well and it was just as good!
