Question regarding home-made (and frozen) cottage pies ....

.. can you cook them straight from the freezer (any fool-proof cooking times and temps etc) or must you defrost thoroughly first?

just cook a bit lower and longer than you would usually (bit vague, sorry!)
Put some foil over the top if it starts to brown too soon.
