Would you eat this?

So normally when I read these would you eat this out of date ...... I usually reply to go for it! But I have my own dilemma! Cream cheese - unopened- dated 4/4 - would you eat it - I want to make cream cheese frosting for carrot cake so it will be eaten by close family (who like me don't mind eating out of date stuff Grin)

Taste it, smell it, look at it. If all ok and your not in a vulnerable group - eat it.

No ! Sorry !

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 20/04/2017 18:56

Unless it has green on it I would eat it!!
And def if it was on a cake!!!

fufulina · 20/04/2017 18:56

Absolutely. Unopened I go weeks past!

Crikeyblimey · 20/04/2017 19:00

You're not your!

SleepFreeZone · 20/04/2017 19:00

I would open it up and smell it.

Reow · 20/04/2017 19:04

If it didn't stink I probably would

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 20/04/2017 19:08

I'd be happy with that provided the foil isn't blown and there's no sucky farty noise when it's opened.

Fingalswave · 20/04/2017 19:09

Nope. Never muck around with dairy products personally.

Highlove · 20/04/2017 19:19

Yes absolutely - if it looks and smells fine I'd taste it. And if that's fine too then it's definitely fine to use.

Out2pasture · 20/04/2017 23:09

Cooked cheese cake or not? If it gets cooked I'd have no concerns.

MiltopMighty · 20/04/2017 23:16

I would. If it's Philadelphia- that stuff would survive the apocalypse. Some other brands don't seem as, er, robust as Philadelphia.

You won't be heating it for frosting though and I would worry about it if it weren't all eaten fairly sharpish.
