Silly question about rice paper cake toppers?

I'm looking at eighties themed cake toppers but what's the best way to present them? I would be buying either fairy cakes or biscuits but would I need to cut circles of icing to stick the rice paper to?

Well...just ice them yourself! It's very easy...you don't need to cut circles of icing. Just use normal icing sugar that you mix with water. Make it fairly thick and put a small blob on each cake...and stick the topper on.
