Learning to ice - where do i start?

Hello seasoned bakers!

So now that I'm a new mum, I'd really love to learn how to ice better. I've baked in the past but just standard loafs and was always happy to forgo icing. My mum passed away young so I never got a real chance to learn from her.

So where to start with say icing cupcakes etc and maybe doing a first baby cake? I have inherited a Wilton tip set from my late mum plus I have unused piping bags, various tins (giant cupcake) but the thought of my giant clumsy hands trying to ice isn't pretty.

Could anyone advise where to start, IE tips on how to use piping bags, basic icing recipe, what's the best tips to use? I'd really like to continue the family tradition somehow.

There's a lot of great tutorials on YouTube which make it easier as you can see when they are doing and how 😊 Wilton have a good channel
