Cake with a crunchie cinnamon topping

My mum used to make really lovely cake but she has lost the recipe and can't remember how to make it. It was a quite dense plain cake with a crunchie topping that resembled cinnamony sugary bread crumbs. Not sure how the topping was made, or whether it was cooked with the cake or added later. The closest thing it resembles is Steusel topping. Can anyone help with a recipe that might be similar? Thanks.

Yes, here it is: m.joyofbaking.com/cakes/AppleStreuselCake.html

This is an apple one, but you could leave out the apples and just have a vanilla cake underneath. Or there are loads of recipes for coffee cakes with the same crumb topping.

Have fun!

Thanks for replies! I will try the apple streusel cake-it looks similar-probably even nicer with the apples.

Google Streusel cake or crumb cake if want a recipe without apples.
