Just wondering if there's something that tastes great in mashed potatoes (e.g. Garlic, mustard etc) to make them a bit more flavourful and delicious?Smile

Butter and/or olive oil, cheddar, pepper and a raw egg. Even my DM who doesn't like mash asked for more.

Sweet chilli sauce is lovely in mashed potato - especially if you are serving with salmon.

Wholegrain mustard is great.

Spring onions

Garlic mayonnaise

But mostly we just have butter and salt and pepper

Gentleman's Relish swirled though buttery mash can be very lovely.

Chorizo mash is amazing! Makes the mash go orange Grin

I like the Gentleman's Relish idea.

Very finely chopped anchovies are great for a fish pie. Or to eat with Toulouse sausages.......

Tapenade stirred through olive oil mash works well too.

Is it just me who thought gentlemans relish was spunk?! Thank God i found out here, and not in naice company, that it's an actual thing Blush

Cook potatoes in salted water, drain well, add a splash of milk, plenty of butter and loads of white pepper - perfection.
I use black pepper in nearly everything else, but mash has to be white.
