Stupid slow cooker question

I've recently bought a slow cooker and have had some success so far but I have a bit of a stupid question. If the recipe says for example 6 hours on low but I'm going to be out the house for longer than this - is it ok for it to be cooking longer?

Generally it should be fine. However, if you have vegetables in it or potatoes, they will obviously go softer/mushy. As long as you don't mind that, it will be fine.
I leave mine on all day sometimes.

I used to leave mine on all day. It's fine, but as pp said it may go mushy depending on what's in it.
Now I have one of those plug timer things like this.
You can set it to start about 6 hours before you're home.

IMO .... Slow cooker cooking takes a bit if time to get good at so .....
Within reason I would stick to the recipie .
An hour or two will make v little difference

I like to use a plug in timer with mine
It's one with a dial and wee pins and u simply set the on off times .....remembering to leave the cooker turned on

Works well when leaving v early and not back until 7

I bloody adore my slow cooker. Plug in timer with the pins is the way to go.
