I have a whole chicken. i have a slow cooker (which was given to me without a cookery/instruction book) so have no idea where to start. Can you cook a whole chicken in a slow cooker and if so how?

Thanks

Yep, just bung it in, put the lid on and cook on auto for abuout five hours, (or until the juices run clear. I nearly always cook chicken like that in the summer as I hate having the oven on when its hot. It also makes it SOOOOO moist.

When I do it I slice an onion and put it on the bottom. put some whole garlic cloves in the chicken and on top of the onion. Rub chicken with oil, paprika salt and some herbs

Bung in and cook for ages!

It really is that simple. Put the cooker on to auto, that heats it on high for about half anhour to warm the dish, then switches over to slow. After the dish has warmed up, place the chicken in the dish, (you might have to remove its legs with scissors first if it is very large and tuck them round the sides and then put the lid on. That's it, no water no nothing. Comes out so moist is absolutely delish
