HELP! CAKE STUCK. BIRTHDAY BOY ON WAY HOME.

He's already having quite a bad 17th birthday and now the beautiful coffee sponge my other DS has made for his brother is stuck in the baking tin. We did butter it. The baking tin was once non stick. He had no greaseproof paper so thought we'd get away with it.
It's properly stuck.

Any tips?

Stuck at the sides or just at the bottom?

PonderLand · 28/01/2017 20:26

No tips, maybe ribbon round the cake tin? Grin or cut the cake into pieces and put it on a plate in the right shape? If the bottoms stuck then I'd just keep it in the tin and decorate it

Put a plate slightly smaller than the tin on top, turn the whole thing over and put it on top of some kind of tub. The bottom of the tin should be face up now. Whack the bottom of the tin repeatedly.

Hooefully that will loosen it enough to get it out, but will need icing to cover any cracks.

Worked when we accidently did this!

Ooh, obviously loosen the sides with a knife first. And the tin may be dead afterwards.

Sounds like the tin is dead anyway...

Either ice it in the tin. Or cut it out of the tin as best you can and either cover it with icing in one piece, or cut it into "bars" or some other shape that might make it look deliberate...
