Birthday party

It's DS's 1st birthday party soon and we are doing the catering ourselves. Planning on doing the usual sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls etc but also want to do something hot for the adults. Was thinking something along the lines of a chilli with some jacket potatoes, does anyone have any other suggestions that are fairly easy to make and serve?

You could do a slow cooker of chili and a slow cooker of curry and then rice which would go with them both?

We did soup with homemade rolls. Seemed to go down ok.

Are you able to seat people or will it need to be eaten off laps or standing with a fork?

The curry is a good idea thankyou!

There will be limited seating but some people may be standing

Soup is good also! Hadn't thought of that but would be a good veggie option

If some people may need to eat standing I'd probably go for rice rather than jackets with a chilli, much easier to eat with just a fork.
Or just do pizzas and garlic bread, would probably go down well with some of the children too.
