Help! Can Mushrooms Go Out of Date?

Hello! Would love some advice. Bought two packs of mushrooms over a week ago to cook soup with but haven't had time until today.

1 pack (shiitake) is from Tesco and has a Best Before date of 6th Jan.
The other pack (portobellini mushrooms) I bought a week ago on Sunday from Whole Foods and it doesn't have a BB/Use By date.

Do you reckon they're still OK?

You will know if they aren't okay.

Mushrooms go a bit soft and slimy - I wouldn't want to eat them if they were like that.

Sure they will be fine, they go slimy and crumpled when they get really old!

Agree with pp, its obvious when they are gone, they're slimy, soft and look almost bruised. I've never actually looks at the best before on mushrooms, just go by how they look
