What can I make with a big jar full of old dried apple rings?

which the DC have stopped eating as snacks. They taste okay, just look a bit brown. Wondering about rehydrating them with something tasty. Or putting them in a pie? They are quite chewy to cook with though.

Have you thought about using them in homemade snack bars? Apple and cinnamon... with oats? I am sure there would be a few variations of recipes online. Many a moon ago, I used to use apple slices and pecans to make them and they used to keep for a while.

Good idea! If the situation arises again, I'll try that. In the end, I rehydrated them with some hot water and cloves and them layered them with breadcrumbs, cinnamon and sugar fried in butter and then baked it in the oven - sort of like Apple Brown Betty. It was very tasty.

What about cooking some pork in cider and adding them to the sauce.
