How do you serve Christmas lunch?Everything in dishes on the table so people help themselves (which we do) or do you dish up and present a full plate to people. Just curious because we were talking about it on Christmas Day.

Serving dishes and people help themselves here. It means that there's a bit more washing up but it was lovely to see my older DCs making sure that DMum had everything she wanted on her plate.

And you get left overs which you will have to bin if plated.

Serving dishes here. I like that everyone can take what they want and will then generally way it. I find there's less waste and as PP said there's leftovers!

As a general rule we do a big serving plate for most meals though - the DC know that whatever they put on their plate they have to eat it all - it's sort of helps them understand their own portions.
