Will figs work instead of prunes?

I want to do chipolatas with prune on top then wrapped in bacon.

All prunes are sold out, so wondering if I can substitute prunes with figs?

I don't think I've ever had figs before, but they are from prune family aren't they?

Dates would be better I think. The texture of figs is very different.

Oh ok thank you will try and get dates.

If you can't get prunes or dates, try dried apricots.
