Stale trifle finger sponges - OK to use?

I bought a pack of trifle sponges a few weeks ago to make tiramisu. The trouble is that DD has sneakily opened the pack a few days ago and now they're stale. Considering I'll be dipping them in coffee and they become soggy anyway, should it make much difference to the tiramisu?

Like you say they'll become soggy anyway, so I should think they'd be absolutely fine.
