COFFEE PODS - cafetiere ?

I have been given some Dolce Gusto coffee pods but don't have a machine.
Can I use these in a cafetiere by just emptying the coffee out?

Probably not. I have a dolce gusto machine, the machine pierces the top then shoots high pressure hot/cold water through the pods. Might be best to give them to someone you know with the machine, or even buy one for yourself as a Christmas treat? It really is a lovely machine and you can pick them up for around £20 in Tesco now.

The coffee is too fine so it will go through the filter on the cafetière. I had a machine but preferred the cafetière :)

Agree with roses, you need coarse grind for cafetiere, medium grind for filter coffee & fine grind for espresso machines - pretty sure pods fall in the latter category. Its also an expensive substitute for ground coffee.

Nope you need the pressure of the pump in the machine to properly brew the coffee
