Next week I've got loads people coming over for supper. I'm doing quite a rich wintery red winey and tomatoey main. I usually like making chocolatey things but think that's too much with the main. Any suggestions? Preferably not something too complicated.

Apple Crumble? Put a bit of Orange Zest in with the apples, and toasted rolled oats in the crumble mixture.

Pavlova?
Lemon cheesecake
Mincemeat tart with ice cream

Tiramisu. Always tiramisu. Or pavlova if you must, but not too much fruit...

What about a big platter of things for people to pick at with coffee and pudding wine, eg broken up dark chocolate, nougat, turkish delight, florentines, figs, grapes etc. Easy and looks pretty.

People must be getting sick of me saying this on here, but Lemon Posset! I use a Tom kerridge recipe which is easy to find on google, and it literally takes five minutes. The ingredients are cream, sugar and lemon juice, and I normally serve it with some posh shopbought biscuits.
