Would you recommend Candy Melts for decoration?

I have seen some little cornflake wreaths and Christmas trees (with a strawberry inside) on Pinterest (basic decorating for the Children to do).

They are very green and I wondered whether Candy Melts would be better than a usual food colouring. Wondering whether anyone has experience of using these and whether they taste ok to an English palate (think they are American) ?

They just taste like cheapish white chocolate. They're fine for making sickly sweet crap that the DC will love.
