A bit late on, but November cookery book club anyone?

I started another thread about wanting some cooking buddies for Fresh India but was told it had recently been done in September.

How about something else? I love Sesame and Spice by Anne Shooter (baking book) but am yet to make anything from it.. Any takers?

Also happy for other suggestions if not enough people have that book.

Just looked at HFW again. I still don't want particularly to eat anything in there apart from the beetroot tart (but nobody else really likes beetroot) or the Cambodian wedding day dip (but dd2 won't eat mushrooms).

What should I be googling from Plenty? I fancy something with lentils or chickpeas maybe.

Pantah630 · 26/11/2016 15:14

I'm at work but i'm sure there was a mushroom lasagne in HFWVeg that was very good. I remember most being a bit hit and miss though. More like sides than a proper meal.

I've been rubbish lately as bought an InstaPot so I've been trialling that. We had Carnitas last night, was delicious but pork so not vege.

I don't have Plenty to hand (am at a kids' party 😬), but there is a really nice cold salad with Puy lentils, sunblush tomatoes (I think he has you make your own, I bought mine!) and cambozola. I found the blue cheese too strong and preferred Brie, it didn't overwhelm the other flavours. Really nice.

Will have a look this evening for other lentilly recommendations :)

HuevosRancheros · 26/11/2016 15:28

It's this one

My memory failed there.
He asked for Gorgonzola, I found that too strong for the other flavours, so I used Cambozola :)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/11/2016 15:39

That looks nice, minus the tomatoes. DD wouldn't eat it though.

I've decided to make this next week, although it's not from either of the books we're discussing! Love black beans.

Oh yes, sorry, forgot about your tomato hatred Grin

Pantah if you're still looking for chickpea things- this chickpea bread soup is great weekday food. My family love it ( it does have tinned tomatoes but it's not tomatoey )

Ps the huevos haberenos looks great- is the world cafe book one for my Christmas list?

Huevos- thank you! That is probably the recipe I bought the tofu for in the first place! I'll give it a -reluctant- go!
