RustyBear · 14/02/2007 17:56

Fruit with hot chocolate dipping sauce?

camera · 14/02/2007 17:57

chocolate brownies or cookies with ice cream?

tortoiseSHELL · 14/02/2007 17:59

Have you eggs and sugar? You could make meringue nests and fill them with fruit, or make fruit salad with bits of meringue in them

MrsBadger · 14/02/2007 18:02

Magic Chocolate Pudding - it's that one that meakes its own sauce and my emergency standby as it only uses cupboard stuff:

3oz SR
1 1/2 oz marg or butter
4 level tbsp drinking choc
5tbsp milk
drop vanilla extract if you have it

Sift flour & choc. Add butter cut into small bits and sugar. Stir in milk and vanilla. Pour into greased dish.
Sprinkle over 2oz brown sugar and 2 level tbsp drinking choc, pour over 1/2pt boiling water.
Gas 4 35min.

Mrs Badger - that is perfect.... thanks but am little confused....

3oz SR
1 1/2 oz marg or butter
4 level tbsp drinking choc
5tbsp milk
drop vanilla extract if you have it

Add butter cut into small bits and sugar. (caster sugar?? how much?)

Stir in milk (cold??) and vanilla. Pour into greased dish.

And the following bit completely loses me!! Can you explain the last bit again.... sorry I am a bit dense

Sprinkle over 2oz brown sugar and 2 level tbsp drinking choc, pour over 1/2pt boiling water.

And what size dish? Ta xx

MrsBadger · 14/02/2007 18:13

bugger, missed 3oz sugar off the ingredient list, sorry

You make the cake mix (flour, choc, marg, sugar, cold milk, vanilla) and put it into the dish.
Then over the top of it you sprinkle a further 2oz brown sugar and a further 2tbsp of drinking choc.
Then you pour 1/2pint boiling water over it all.
Then you put it in the oven till the top is a risen spongey cake floating on a puddle of chocolate custard.

Sounds mad but it works!

MrsBadger · 14/02/2007 18:15

I use a round pyrex casserole dish about 7in across and 3in deep.

becca2007 · 14/02/2007 18:20

Mmm, I might try that tonight! Sounds yummy!

If you don't have brown sugar, would it still work with normal/caster...?

poppiesinaline · 14/02/2007 18:23

WOW!! Thanks Mrs Badger.

Thanks to everyone else too.... fancied something chocolate and I have all Mrs Badger's recipe stuff in my cupboard...

DH is in for a rather delightful dessert... or a rather horrible failed one !!!! Well, one can at least give it a go

poppiesinaline · 14/02/2007 19:36

Tonight though... he gets chocolate pudding and me what a lucky man!!
