Ideas for small afternoon tea party?

I'm having a small afternoon tea party for my daughters 5th birthday. 8 adults and just 4 kids (all under 6).

Can anyone suggest some simple ideas for a small tea for everyone (4 grandparents)? And quantities? I'm a bit clueless!

mini sausage rolls(from freezer), mini quiche (make in shallow bun tin), Cheese & pineapple on cocktail sticks, cup cakes, party rings of course, carrot/cucumber/pepper sticks and dips,small scones (sweet or savoury)

Mini pittas filled with diced chicken, mayo and chopped salad leaves.

Wraps with shredded duck, cucumber,salad and hoi-sin sauce or chicken and caesar salad.

Sparkly jelly in individual dishes.

Devilled eggs.

Cheese straws.

Anchovy toast fingers.

Smoked salmon sandwiches with cream cheese are lovely - my DCs loved them at that age. Kids will probably also appreciate jam sandwiches.

In terms of quantities, for sandwiches I would plan 1.5 "rounds" (i.e., slices of bread) per child, and maybe 2-3 rounds per adult. For things that aren't sandwiches, like sausage rolls and quiches, I'd plan on 2-3 per adult and 1-2 per child.

You'll probably have some left over but you won't be under-catered.

Be sure to have some squash for the kids - maybe with some fizzy water to make it more "cocktail-like".

And don't forget a Victoria sponge cake!

yes to quiches, with 12 people, maybe 2 x 8" ones cut into 8 so 2 pieces each ., A round of sandwiches each, ( 2 slices of bread) cut into fingers and at least 2 fillings for choice - 3 would be lovely. maybe scones with jam and cream, along with a cake of course. If you can manage it, hot crumpets are lovely too if it's cold on the day

Waitrose frozen party good (mini pizzas, green and red pesto bites, sausage rollls)

Vegetable platter with hummus
Cheese scones with butter
2 quiches

Birthday cake
Mini cupcakes
A baklava selection
Fruit platter
Scones with clotted cream and jam
A big homemade jelly
Homemade biscuits

I think I would just ask dd what she would like and go from there. Are you think 'afternoon tea' or a 'birthday tea'? I'm not trying to be pedantic but I think of them as different things!
Afternoon tea is a more refined dainty sandwiches and cakes and scones whereas birthday tea is a bit more fun, for instance I wouldn't serve cheese and pineapple or sausages on sticks for afternoon tea but they would certainly feature in a birthday tea, likewise chocolate fingers and iced gems!

I would think about what the birthday girl would like and cater around that and add on elements of a normal afternoon tea.

e.g. mini pizzas and or chicken goujouns and party ring and cake for the children

then things like choc eclairs, scones, macaroons and quiche and finger sandwiches that the children can and will also eat but aimed more at the grown up crowd.

I had a lovely savoury cream tea in the summer with cheese scones, cream cheese and red onion marmalade.
