Recipes for green lentils?

Help please!
I've got a jar full of lentils, and want to use them up, but whenever I make stews with them, no-one wants to eat it. Please give me your best recipe ideas for yummy lentils!

Jamie Oliver has a lovely Italian recipe Jamie Hope link works - it's become a staple in our house. You don't need to use Italian sausages, it's just as nice with good Brit bangers.

Green lentils are my go-to when I have the following to use up: a couple of carrots, the odd tomato, a bit of smoked bacon and/or sausage.

Fry some onion in olive oil, add the smoked bacon/sausage, stir and fry for a couple of minutes.
Add the diced carrot/tomato and continue to stir for a couple more minutes.
Then add the lentils, enough water to cover, a stock cube to flavour, a generous dash of black pepper, a bay leaf/thyme, if you have it, bring to the boil and then turn down to simmer.

Keep checking that there's enough water and add more, if necessary, until the lentils are cooked.

I'm sorry I don't have the exact quantities and cooking times - I tend to just wing it.

Forgot to mention: the bacon and sausage should be in bite-sized pieces in order to flavour the dish.
