Cider or coke?

To put with my gammon joint in the slow cooker? I was going to use cider but after a quick google for recipes I'm wondering if coke would be nicer?

I use ginger beer, it is delicious!

Hmmm DH would love that. I'm not a massive fan of ginger though. Plus don't think we have any!

I don't really like gammon, but if I cook the Nigella ham in coke I think it's beautiful.

On the plus side I added a cinnamon stick and some cloves and my house now smells of Christmas 🎄

Cider is more fragrant. Cheap apple juice is best ime.
