What makes a great baked potato?
I normally microwave but doing them for visitors this weekend so want nice fluffy middle and crispy skin. DH says his mum's are so good cos she wraps in tin foil in oven!! Do you foil??

I only use foil when I do them in the log burner. No need when they are in the oven as there's no ash to protect the potatoes from.

Start off in the microwave then put a metal skewer through and cook in the oven until crispy.

I always use foil. For 4 spuds - 14 mins in microwave, then place on square of foil, add knob of butter then wrap up foil and put in oven for an hour. Always fluffy and tasty.

It's got to be Maris piper potatoes for me and defo no microwave!! Wash, dry, stab all over with a fork then bake on 190-200 for about 2 hours (depending on size may need slightly less time)
