Accidently cooked meat pad!

Roasted a pork loin and when taken out after hr and a half I noticed that the pad in the packaging was still on the meat! Cut the meat off that was touching the pad and ate it but didn't give it to DC (who instead had an extra yogurt and biscuit and hence thrilled). Anyone else done this and lived to tell the tale?! Not sure whether to give to DH!

Coco, that's got me in stitches!!

chemenger · 19/10/2016 18:39

I wouldn't worry about it. If there was a risk there would be huge warnings on the packaging.

DH does this all the time.

It annoys me as I think the food cooks better without it, but so far, no ill effects noticed from eating meat cooked with the meat pad.

Hahahha ha! Thank you Coconutty! How do supermarkets expect us tired Mums to remember to check to take the pad off.

I'm thinking the heat will have killed any bacteria on the nappy?

I opened this thread, purely to post 'what the fucks a meat pad?' fortunately, cocos description cleared up the confusion for me.

doublehelpings · 19/10/2016 19:31

Sorry - meat pad probably sounds a bit dodgy in hindsight
