Will a cake made today be OK on Saturday?

I need to make a cake for Saturday. It's one of those suspended pouring cakes so u imagine will take a while. The only time I have to do it is this evening.

The cake will be covered in chocolate, so the actual cake won't be exposed.

Is it silly to think this will be OK?

God...maybe. What sort of chocolate will be covering it?

Could you freeze it? Cakes are often better once they've been frozen.

Unless you are filling it with fresh cream, it should be fine. I do agree freezing it can be good though, it can improve the cake & provided it is well wrapped & therefor kept dry, it can make icing & crumb coating etc, much easier

I should have added - I do this all the time, not always frozen either & never had a complaint yet, just make sure its well wrapped to keep it from drying out
