Apple and potato bake

This is a really long shot, but I'm hoping somebody can help. Years ago, a friend gave me a recipe for an apple and potato bake, in a cheese sauce. I haven't made it for a long time, and now I can't find the recipe. Does anyone know of such a thing? I'm thinking of trying to cobble it together myself, but as DH is so suspicious of the idea, I want to make sure it's nice.
