Anyone know of a reason that my 13month old can't have the kidney beans in this chilli?

Made a mild veg chilli with brown rice.
Have left overs.
Can DD2 have it reheated tomorrow (unsure about reheating rice) and can she eat the kidney beans?

I don't see a problem with the kidney beans, but am very careful about reheating rice since reading on here that it was one of the main culprits for food poisoning.

Maybe give her the chili without the rice/with bread instead?

I'd say yes tbh.

I have given DS1 reheated kidnetybeans before, and when he was younger then your DD is

IntergalacticWalrus · 06/02/2007 19:46

Oh yes, don't reheat the rice.

TeeCee · 06/02/2007 19:47

The rice is kind of already stirred into the chilli.
There's not much of the rice.

Hmmm maybe I should start a thread about the rice not the kidney beans.

sorry x posts.
So shall I bin it then rather than give her the rice again?

why are you worried about kidney beans? is there something i should know? dd loves baked beans and butter beans and she is only 9 months....

According to my book kidney beans are ideal for children. Tinned ones are perfectly safe, dried ones need to be boiled for 45(?) mins

For some reason I had something in my head about kidney beans but not sure why.

Right will start seperate thread about the rice issue instead!
