Why did my flapjack go wrong?

My contribution to weekly office cakes was a disaster! I tried to vary a flapjack recipe on a friend's advice. Using muesli instead of just oats. Lots of fruit.
Soft, crumbly disaster. Tastes great but it's a pile of bits with a layer of butter at the bottom.
Any advice please? Thanks

There is no alternative.

Also, in your case not using oats. Museli won't bind in the same way.

Hi,
It sounds like you were trying to take on board your friends advice in order to make a healthier flapjack
If that's the case, use Annabel Karmels recipe - she uses a lot of fruit and seeds, but it adheres and is v v tasty.
