Making basic biscuits for Dd's birthday party - recipe I was going to use (sugar cookie - hummingbird book) uses 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar - just checked and i don't have any and no time to get some. Anything I can use instead? Internet is suggesting lemon juice or baking soda? Any help much appreciated!

Baking powder is baking soda plus cream of tartar isn't it?
