What can I make with mince but no onions?

I was going make spag Bol for tea but just discovered I have no onions!

I wasn't planning on going out today as DS isn't very well, but I can't think of any mince recipe that doesn't require onions - help please!

I'd just make it without the onions. I do it quite often without when I realise I haven't got one in the cupboard. Have you got any other veg to put in it?

Anything you would make with mince and onions I would suspect. We never put onions in lasagne, spaghetti bol, cottage pie, meatballs, burgers, mince and dumplings.

Tacos?

No I sometimes put celery or carrot in but I don't have those either! I think its time for a big shop!

Maybe meatballs with a sauce made from tomatoes and peppers with spaghetti. Will that work?

I wanted to make something DS is likely to eat as he hasn't eaten properly while ill and spag Bol is his favourite. I'm worried the peppers will put him off though. Maybe I can whizz it all up for a smooth sauce.

I'd ask a neighbour. Someone will have an onion!

Asking a neighbour is a possibility. We are not generally on knocking on the door borrowing stuff terms though.

Taco filling sort of beef is still really tasty without onion. Even if you haven't got tacos you could have it with rice.

I can't see DS going for tacos. I would if it were just DH and me. We have tortilla wraps so that would have been a good call actually.
Oh I've just had a brain storm! I have leftover spag Bol in the freezer from last time - I can give that to DS and DH and I can have tacos/burritos!

Make spaghetti and meatballs.

Make the meatballs with some crushed garlic in them, salt and pepper, and some parsley, perhaps.

Either fry them off in a frying pan, or pop them in a hottish oven for 15 to 20 mins, until brown.

Make a tomato sauce with olive oil, crushed garlic, chopped tomatoes or passata, salt, pepper and herbs (oregano, or basil would both be good).

Toss all together before serving.

Do you have any pickled onions? I realised I was onion less last week so decided to rinse and soften some chopped pickled onions. Worked a treat!

I did spaghetti and meatballs in the end, with tomato and pepper sauce. Ds didn't eat the meatballs but he had loads of spaghetti and the sauce was all whizzed up so he didn't know he was eating stealth peppers (won't touch any veg apart from tomatoes, peas and onions (but then only in spag Bol/shepherds pie etc))
