I quite fancy making crumpets today

I have a blissful DH/DD free day and night today as I am not at work and they are away visiting his family this week.

I have never made crumpets and feel it would be an excellent use of my day. I love crumpets!

Anyone made them before? Any hints/tips? I am a reasonably proficient baker and have something that will pass for the required rings, so am good to go!

I've made them before using a Hairy Bikers Mum Knows Best recipe which worked well. I can't link but it's probably Googleable. Have fun

I've also made them before. But if I were to make them again I would do them without the rings... Pikelets, I guess.
