frozen bones for chicken stock

do the bones need defrosting and should I take off as much of the meat as poss before freezing?

Sorry this is my second chicken stock question in a year

i make my chicken soup using a frozen piece of chicken with bones in (haven't killed anyone with salmonella yet!!)

i often use a frozen carcass ,from a previously cooked roast, (fresh cooked, not from frozen) for soup.and don;t defrost...and no salmonella here either !
