Who has popped their own corn and can tell me just how it's done?

Also, how to sweeten? If I sprinkle sugar over, surely it will just fall to the bottom. Or could I use honey, or would it be too sticky? Thanks

oil or butter in pan

corn in

back on heat, when popping starts to wear down (you can hear it) take off

V V easy

I just use sugar to sweeten, you can melt some in butter and toss, or even trickle over tofee or maple sauces

oil in bottom of pan

heat

add 1 layer of un popped corn on bottom of pan

quickly cover with tight lid

think you then remove from heat

then wait for the explosion

either srinkle with sugar or salt

have melted sugar and butter in past to pour over yum

Big pan with lid, a little oil, heat and of course, corn. The trick is to keep the pan moving (hold the lid on), keep on heat and keep jiggling. You'll hear the popping start.

Nice plain. Or cing sugar works well for a light covering. Melted butter and salt is popular (Blech!)

Or take 5 minutes to make lovely toffee topping: knob of butter, spoon of golden syrup/runny honey, spoon brown sugar, teeny splash vingar. Heat, stirring lots for 5 mins, pour over popcorn.
