Devonshire/Cornish split recipe please

Hello,
Does anyone else have a tried and tested recipe for Devonshire splits please? I've Google but all the recipes I've looked up only have a 2 star rating. Really fancy making them tomorrow as we are going on holiday to Dorset soon. Yes, I know Dorset isn't in Devonshire but it's all relative if you live in the North!

Nigel Slaters recipe on The Guardian online - all the recipes I have tried have been good so far. My ds 17yrs regularly makes the banana bread recipe.

Mouth is watering thinking about all this :)
