I have a number 6 cake tin and have no idea how much mixture to put in. Has anyone done this? Was thinking of a standard bday cake mixture doubled. Thanks!

It depends very much on the size of the pan. Also, what on earth is a "standard birthday cake mixture"? I would do a one egg mix of sponge for every 15 square inches of cake area if that is any help.

Get a normal tin which you know how much batter to make for. Then fill it with water and pour into the number 6. Do it again until the 6 is full. Then you know how many times larger the 6 is. Make that times as much batter Grin
