Help me work this induction hob!

We are on holiday in a self catering apartment with an induction hob, and we can't make it work!

We can turn it on using the button next to the key, but nothing happens when we press the plus button. It turns off after a couple of seconds.

We are using the steel flat bottomed pans on it and the top is dry. Any hints??

Are the circles with dots ( next to the zeros) buttons?

If so I would do, power, select which hob, then plus or minus

Thanks Toblerine, you were right! We needed to select which hob first. Managed to cook something on it tonight.
