What am I doing wrong?

My frozen bananas look like alien life forms. Black skins, greyish tinge and mushy insides good for absolutely nothing. They really don't look like something humans should eat.

Everyone on these threads raves about making smoothies with frozen bananas but I must be missing something because it seems it's just not as simple as whacking a bunch in the bottom freezer drawer?

Do tell me - where am I going wrong and what am I supposed to be doing?

Are you freezing them with the skins on???

Peel chop and then freeze. Probably in a single layer of you can and then shove in a freezer bag when solid.

Interesting question, OP - led me to research what the technique should be! There are three methods here : www.wikihow.com/Freeze-Bananas

Ahhh I see, so it's the skins that are the problem. Thanks!
