Food phobias and hang-ups - does your child have any?

My 5yo ds has a weird hang-up about his food touching on his plate. They have to be all separated or he freaks out. No gravy or sauces, except tomato sauce on the side. And hates any meal where food is mixed together like a casserole.
It makes me crazy - does anyone else have similar experiences?

All of the above with both my ds's. Also both of them will only drink milk - no juice, water etc and first ds will not eat any fruit or veg either - AT ALL!!complete pain in the * but at the same time they dont like sweets, fizzy drinks, lollies etc so there is an up side for me!!

No experience, just wanted to say how nice to see you, you haven't been here for a while have you? My son is still perfectly capable of getting cross about tomato sauce being spread over food rather than on the side though so it doesn't sound that weird to me.

My dd is only 19 months so haven't got to quite that stage yet although already there are all sorts of foods she refuses to handle and she'll eat broccoli on its own but not if it's cooked in with her pasta and sauce.

What I wanted to say though was that I remember being just like your ds when I was a child. I was, apparently, a total nightmare of fussiness, drove my poor mom mad. And I'm still very fussy now.
