just tried a BBC recipe and it was as dull as dishwatter as well as being dry and crumbly

You need to follow an Egyptian recipe and use broad beans instead of chick peas. Much nicer imo. I will try and post the recipe later when I get home.

whois · 13/06/2016 14:23

pinkmagic1 do you use dried or fresh broad beans?

GoogleMonkey · 13/06/2016 14:26

I tried this one recently, it was very good

Ooh I like the addition of sweet potato there. I usually make them with chickpeas and butter beans, but they need lots of seasoning and a good pinch of chilli flakes to pep them up.

The sweet potato would definitely add a new dimension. I serve them with a tangy soured cream sprinkled with paprika.

What's this about broad beans?

You use dried , but soak beforehand, whois.

Thanks pinkmagic1 - I like the sound of that. Will have to try.

I have made this recipe loads of times, it's easy as long as you remember to soak the chickpeas the night before. I love that there is so much herb in it so not a dry falafel.
